hanging out

A big trend in 2019 (and what should have been the wedding season of 2020) was hanging designs. Whether they be installed in a barn, tipi or an alternative venue. They really add a bit of ‘wow’ to a space. We think this trend is going to carry on into 2021 and here’s why (and we’re totally here for it).

  • Impact. Like a fancy light fitting does, it brings your eye up into the space. If your venue is a large space and it needs filling- by installing something suspended in the air it brings the feeling of height down which adds a more ‘fuller’ feel.

  • Transition. So you’re eating in the same room you’re partying in? The plus side of having something hanging is when your room is changed around- ready for when everyone grabs their dancing shoes, the hanging design stays. Which means it’s featured in your photography all day- from wedding breakfast to the first dance. Like an all day disco ball. But less glittery (unless that’s your bag). And who wouldn’t want one of those?

  • Space saving. You’ve got limited space on your guest tables- whether that be because of the style of the tables you’ve chosen or for catering reasons but you still want to bring in your overall style and colour scheme. Take the flowers up.

  • Variety. There are hoops, planks, hanging flowers, garland- all sorts can be done. Just be sure to check with both your venue and florist for installation and limitations.

  • They’re just cool. So why not?!

  • Also- big old balloons are pretty cool too.
