weddings during covid

So this year has been…interesting. Weddings have been stop, start throughout the year with the first lockdown, followed by the guest count limit and then another lockdown!

Planning has been impossible for couples across the country and we send our love to all those who have had to postpone.
98% of all our couples this year have had to postpone. Some in advance and making the decision when the pandemic hit. Some very last minute due to the new restrictions and government advice. It’s been a real nightmare for the wedding industry.

We got to work on a few weddings when the rules allowed a whopping 30 guests. Which allowed some couples to have a gorgeous intimate day, which of course we helped fill with flowers. These were a real treat to work on and it felt like a true celebration of love that they finally got to get married through all this years challenges.

Just before lockdown 2.0 hit, we had 24 hours notice to move a wedding from the Saturday to the Tuesday. We of course accepted the challenge and created her ceremony and bridal party flowers which worked perfectly for her Bassmead Manor Barns wedding.

We’re really hoping things can slowly start to get back to some ‘new normal’ which allows couples to get married, and people to celebrate along with them. Even if the guests are a little socially distanced and wearing face masks…it’s something right!
